The Brut Impérial is composed of around 150 different wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, from all parts of the Champagne region. It is a non-vintage champagne. Every bottle of Moët & Chandson consists for a large part of vins de réserve - beautifully aged, older wines.
The name, Brut Impérial, refers to the pleasant dry taste - Brut - and the long-term preference of Emperor Napoleon for the Moët & Chandon.
