This 100% Tempranillo from the 2023 vintage hails from selected family-owned vineyards in the heart of Ribera del Duero, specifically in Fuentecén, Burgos. It showcases an intense, violet-colored robe, highlighting its youth and liveliness. The nose is exceptionally intense with powerful fruit aromas of ripe, dark berries such as blackcurrants, blueberries, and blackberries. Subtle notes of red berry fruit and floral nuances of violets also appear, along with hints of licorice and the presence of the region's clay soils.
The taste is a lively mouthfeel with a very pleasant, balanced attack, offering good balance of acidity, tannins, and alcohol, leading to a long finish where its fruit essence returns. The wine undergoes gentle maceration and fermentation, followed by 7 months of aging in oak barrels, which subtly integrates the oak without overshadowing the fruit.
This red wine is perfect for enjoying and pairs beautifully with red meat, dried ham, cheese, and fine pâtés.
