Wijnkasteel Vandeurzen is part of a magnificent castle domain with an 18th-century farmhouse and 11 hectares of agricultural land. The domain has undergone a thorough renovation in recent years and is now a real pearl in the Hageland. The vineyard is the second largest in Flanders and the ambition is to use a range of new Belgian top wines to turn Linden into one of the most beautiful wine villages in Flanders. Wijnkasteel Vandeurzen offers 3 white wines, Albarino, Grüner Veltliner and Chardonnay, and 3 red wines, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Lemberger.
Tempranillo Prestige Pure Red Vandeurzen 2019 has a very rich bouquet with aromas of fine fumé cedar from the 18 months of wood storage. Further impressions of liquorice, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, (forest) strawberries, mulberries and cherries. Still 'punishing' and wood-dominated with impressions of pecan nuts, cocoa, liquorice and espresso. Powerful and youthful in structure, with a core of ripe, juicy black fruit that clearly still has a lot of development potential.
