For the true lover of port wines, here is the Dom Rozes Port 50 years Tawny a unique 50-year-old port. This flagship of the Rozès port house comes in a beautiful box that doubles as a display. Each bottle of Dom Rozès is stamped with the logo and then sealed by hand. This 50-year-old port is amber in colour with recognisable aromas of coffee, dried figs and hints of nutmeg. A balanced port that is ideal as a digestive but also goes well with a chocolate dessert.

The winemaking of this unique Porto involves a carefully controlled process that begins with alcoholic fermentation. Here, the grapes undergo pellicular maceration, with the skins remaining in contact with the juice during fermentation. This promotes intense extraction of flavour and colour. However, before fermentation is fully complete, it is abruptly interrupted by the addition of grape spirit with an alcohol content of 77% vol. This creates higher alcohol levels and a sweeter flavour, characteristic of Porto wines.

After this phase, the wine is transferred to wooden barrels for maturation and ageing. For an impressive period of 50 years, the port rests in the cellars. During this period, the port wine undergoes a transformation, with the wood imparting its subtle flavours and aromas to the porto, giving it a complex and balanced character. This carefully managed process of fermentation, interruption and ageing results in a premium unique Dom Roses Porto of unparalleled quality, each bottle of which is the epitome of artisanal craftsmanship and commitment to excellence.

Tasting this Porto offers a sensory journey of pure pleasure. It begins with the visual delight of a deep golden colour, embellished with subtle reflections of brown and green. Then the concentrated aroma of caramel, dried fruit, wood and vanilla enchants the nose, creating a sumptuous bouquet of aromas. On tasting, the Porto reveals its true character: rich, full-bodied, explosive and persistent. Each sip leaves a lasting impression and confirms that this is an extraordinary and excellent Porto.

When it comes to gastronomic pairings, Dom Rozès 50 Year Old shines as an exemplary companion to various culinary delights. From accompanying game dishes like partridge to harmonising with desserts like figs or golden almonds drizzled with honey, its versatility knows no bounds.

The bottle is a beautiful specimen of Rozès' high-quality port wines that has been artistically crafted, favouring low shapes and soft, rounded lines, while adding a personal touch that makes it an authentic work of art. To ensure the authenticity and uniqueness of this port, each bottle of Dom Rozès is hand-sealed and stamped with the logo.

Store the bottle upright, at a constant temperature and away from direct sunlight. As port is a natural wine, some sediment may form over time. After opening, we recommend consuming the contents within 20 to 24 weeks.
